Radio
Short audio stories about science, animals and the stranger corners of being human.
A small archive of radio pieces, essays and drawings: swarms of locusts, musical hallucinations, a town in Belgium that has looked after strangers for seven hundred years, and a sketchbook full of people on trains.
The radio pieces run from three to twenty minutes and were made between 2009 and 2016. They tend to start somewhere small — a bird nobody has heard of, a song that will not leave someone’s head, a nursing home with a bus stop that no bus ever visits — and then keep pulling until something larger comes loose. The essays work the same way on the page.
The drawings came out of a sketchbook carried around for a few years: people on trains, people waiting, a chair in Pittsburgh, a desk. They are small, quick and unflattering in the way that only sketches of strangers can be. Everything here is archival — there is nothing to buy and nothing to sign up for.
